Festivities are OVER. It’s JANUARY ladies and gentlemen. All the holiday crazies are behind us and most of us are glad to get back to our regular routine. What ever junk we ate forget about it. What’s done is done. Let’s put all those things behind us and move on to 2018.
Every year, from October to December, there are sooooo many festivities. From friends’-get-together, Thanksgiving feast, company parties, New Years eve party, the list goes on. We eat stuff that we normally wouldn’t even consider. So of course you will gain weight. But, do you actually think about that during those times? I sure don’t and you shouldn’t either.
At the end of the day, take ownership of what you did and move on. The good thing about January and here on out is there’s not much festivities coming up. MLK, Valentine’s Day, President’s Day. Those days are not what I call “festivities.” Not even close compared to Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years Eve. Seems like we save all the partying til the end of the year, but it is what it is.
Stressing over what you did will do nothing for you. The effort and hard work you put in to changing yourself is what you want to pay close attention to. Get back on track and eating the right types of food, making good choices, and taking care of yourself (physically and mentally).
Put the festivities behind us.
Ultimately, finding the right balance of fun and realistic approach to fitness will be the key factor in lasting a long time. Stay focused on what you can control, which is the effort you put into your workout and the choices you make in terms of food. At the same time, have days where you can relax and enjoy the food/drink that you like. You shouldn’t feel forced to limit yourself just to reach your fitness goals. Remember, everything in moderation.
Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog. Stay tuned for more next Wed…………………………..Kei
