Okay to fail? What do you mean by that, Kei? “I thought failure wasn’t a option?” In fitness, failure is what we NEED to go through. It shows that you tried and just didn’t work. The main thing is whether you learned something from the experience. What is the take home message? From the word of the great hockey player Wayne Gretzky, “You miss 100 percent of the shots you never take.” Try that new diet and see if it works. Try that 30 day challenge. Sign up for that race you’ve been thinking. There are SOOOO many ways to lose weight, increase muscle mass, stay active, that at times you HAVE to try different things.
Gained a few extra pounds? Is that the end of the world? Of course not! The question is, are you going to do something about it? Tomorrow is a new day and you have all day to make good decisions and change your course of action. Take action, rather than trying to rationalize your reason to do this or that. JUST DO IT.
And this includes the eating.
The worst thing you can do in fitness is not give it your all. Results are based on how much effort you put in. And this includes the eating. If you think you can get away with eating bad and expect results, you are in for quite a ride. It ain’t that simple. I always remind clients to find the balance between exercising and finding his/her way of being accountable in terms of nutrition. This process isn’t short.
Ultimately, it takes many years to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t. If you are still in search for this “balance,” keep trying. Because you will find it as long as you keep trying. The key is to stay diligent in the search and you will fail at times, but its what you learn from the experience that will allow you to get closer to that goal. Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog.
