The secret to fitness?

Six-pack shortcuts. Increase muscle mass in two weeks. Lose 10 pounds in one week. All these advertisements we see on television or social media have these grand promises. We see more “fit” people than we have ever. Is there a secret to fitness?

Good old fashion hard work

If you’re looking for a secret to get to your fitness goal, then I am sorry to tell you, there are NONE. Results take time and changing bad habits take months and years to correct. If you lose weight by decreasing your calories significantly, how long would that last? I have seen clients lose a lot of weight in the first 3 months, to have gained it all back within a month because they couldn’t withstand the low-calorie diet. Eating the right amount of calories and exercising consistently requires good old fashion hard work.

Time

Want to get in shape faster? Want to increase muscle mass? Want to bench press more? Understand that all these take time to develop. People are in such a hurry to attain results and get frustrated with the slow process. But, you have to understand that it is a process and as long as you follow the right course, you will get to your fitness goals. My fitness journey has been going for 21 years and counting.

Fitness is unique in a way that you cannot buy it. You cannot buy nice looking arms or a strong stable core. The hours you put into your body, from strength training, stretching, balancing, walking/jogging, all add up to how you feel today. So, rather than looking for a “secret,” put in the hours and take the necessary time to improve your fitness.

Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog. Stay tuned for more next Wed…………Kei
